Music Monday: ∆ (alt-J)

I’ve gotten into the habit of taking advantage of iTunes free downloads each week. A couple weeks ago the song Breezeblocks by ∆ (alt-J) a British band, was posted so I clicked to download.

When it first came on my iTunes, I really didn’t know what to think. I was intrigued but wasn’t really enjoying it all too much. But then it came on my playlist during my morning commute and I had to repeat it on my walk to campus, then a few more times on the way home. It’s an earworm that’s for sure. Something about the song just stands out and makes you want to listen again and again. Its infectious.

Here, give it a listen. Take note the video is pretty intense.

I’ve since downloaded the rest of the album, An Awesome Wave, and it’s pretty solid. It’s the bands debut album so it will be interesting to see where they go from here.
