the gud stuff: midweek roundup April 25, 2013

Wowza! Post-grad life is done and now I’m living post post-grad life! The past month was an adventure with a trip to Vancouver and Seattle, finishing up school, and finding an internship.

School is now on my dunzo list!

The news has been pretty terrible these past couple weeks. With the Boston bombings and news of terrorist plots in Canada I haven’t felt the desire to pick up the paper. But alas, there have been some interesting stories and internet finds.

  • Justin Trudeau developed this counter attack ad
  • Personally I’m a fan of this spoofed CPC attack ad. (If you haven’t seen the original click here)
  • The gun control debate continues in the US.

  • Terrible, terrible ad from Hyundai. Terrible. How this got past the brainstorming session is beyond me.

  • Students at the University of Iceland developed an app for Íslendingabók (The Book of Icelanders) and news sources ate it up. Jimmy Kimmel put together an ad for them. You can read The Reykjavik Grapevine’s article about it here
  • Jimmy Kimmel also did a little spoof on Coachella
  • Get the fork out of here!
  • A sorority president wrote this letter to her sisters. Michael Shannon performs it quite brilliantly. (NSFW very strong language)
