30 Day Challenge STUFF

30 Day Challenge February

Well, my December 30 day challenge was a bit of a bust. I was going strong with yoga for about 6 days and then hurt myself which seems to be the story of my life over the past 12 months. Luckily I was feeling better in time for our Christmas trip, but when we got back and I started up my physio exercises again I had some kind of an upper back spasm that’s been aching ever since.

Thankfully, it’s a new month and with that comes a new start and new perspective. This month, my challenge is to slow down… which is much easier said than done. When it comes to my back I’ve been feeling like I’m grasping at straws… actually, more like grasping at sand. I have the sand in my hand and then it starts slipping and I’m just trying to hold on as tight as I can to not lose any more. It’s not working and I’m getting tired.

So, in an attempt to slow things down and try something different I went to my first acupuncture appointment. I told the acupuncturist how I want, so badly, to get my pain under control. As soon as those words came out of my mouth he told me I need to work on my outlook, that I want to have control but I need to realize how the mind and body work together in unison and you can’t use one to overpower the other. Well, he hit the nail on the head and let’s just say the rest of the appointment got very emotional.

This month I’m going to try and simplify things in my life and be more mindful with my daily tasks. I set aside a bit of time this morning to look through Pinterest at some mindfulness resources. This list really stood out to me as something that I need to work on.

That list is just part of what I’m focusing on this month in addition to being more mindful when it comes to breathing, eating and talking. If you have any mindfulness resources that you use, please share!
